A Scholl For The Businesses
The Don Bosco Technical Industrial College is a reality. The 2004
started its class with a thousand an forty-nine students between
1st and 3rd of high level. Three hundred and sixty of them have
already selected their specialty and they are using the workshops
and laboratories, recently finished. They are four specialties
in the College: Electricity, Electronic, Automobile Mechanics (Heavy
Machinery) and Industrial Mechanics.
More than the eighty-five percent of the required installations
for the classes are ready. More than three million American dollars
invested in this process, the money has been donated by the businesses
of the Antofagasta Industrial Association. A total success, if
we consider that the School opened its doors in 2002.
But
not everything that shines is gold, there are weaknesses, we
haven’t enough gardens and sport courts, we need more
classrooms, we don´t have a gym, events room, or a Chapel.
We
still need over one million, three hundred thousand American
dollars to finish the structure. With this complete, we will
have the necessary vehicle to give a first level education, destined
to cover the needs of the businesses today. It´s easy to
say it, but this is the challenge that we have faced, since the
beginning and the task is stimulate and necessary. We already did
the most difficult. We doubled the curve that indicates the half
of the road, and the end appears near.
We trust that the businesses that assume this project, will initiate
a participation in the plan of the private education in our region.
We urgently need more donations, especially for the actual construction
necessary for the students who will attend in march of 2005.
